ABOUT US

METYCLE - where innovation meets sustainability

We are building the B2B online platform to accelerate the global circular flow of secondary metals. By connecting buyers and sellers of scrap metal globally, we enable efficient trade of secondary metals and drive the seamless flow of recycling material, essential for reducing CO2 emissions by up to 95% compared to primary metal production.

And we take it further! We are pioneering an innovative Smart Sorting Facility that leverages AI, machine learning, and robotics to transform how scrap metal is processed, enhance material quality, improve traceability, and drive the recycling industry into the digital era.

Join us at the early stage in bringing the $610 billion scrap metal trading industry into the 21st century and in shaping the future of metal recycling and green energy solutions.

READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT?

If you are passionate about people, culture, and creating exceptional employee experiences, join our team as People & Culture Generalist! Be part of our international team and play a pivotal role in shaping innovative solutions for trading scrap metal and building a greener future.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the full employee lifecycle, support HR compliance and administration, and drive initiatives that strengthen team engagement and culture. Your work will directly impact how our people grow, connect, and thrive across the organization.

YOUR MISSION

  • End-to-end People Operations: Own the full employee lifecycle (onboarding, internal transitions, offboarding) across teams and geographies, and serve as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related questions, policies, and day-to-day people matters.
  • HR Administration & Compliance: Prepare and manage contracts, amendments, reference letters, and other HR documents in line with German (and ideally international) labor law, internal policies, and compliance requirements.
  • HRIS & Data Management: Maintain accurate employee data in Personio and collaborate with external payroll providers, tax advisors, and EOR partners to ensure smooth, compliant operations. Continuously improve and scale our HR systems, tools, and workflows.
  • Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Coordinate the end-to-end recruiting process: job postings, interview scheduling, People & Culture interviews, candidate experience, and employer branding across functions and seniority levels.
  • Culture, Engagement & DEI: Drive initiatives that strengthen engagement, recognition, well-being, and collaboration. Organize team events, offsites, and workshops, and foster a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace.
  • Learning & Development: Support the design and execution of workshops, training programs, feedback processes, and development frameworks that enable growth across the organization.
  • HR Projects & Operational Excellence: Contribute to strategic People & Culture initiatives such as process optimization, policy documentation, automation, and DEI projects. Continuously improve efficiency and scalability by leveraging AI and automation tools to enhance the employee experience.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, (Business/Organizational) Psychology, Business Administration or a related field, plus 3–5 years hands-on experience in People & Culture / HR Operations, ideally in fast-growing companies or startups
  • Strong knowledge of German labor law, HR administration and end-to-end employee lifecycle management; experience with international labor regulations is a plus
  • Solid experience with HRIS (ideally Personio) and in improving, structuring and scaling HR tools and People processes in dynamic, fast-paced environments
  • Experience in recruiting and talent acquisition across different functions and seniority levels, including contributions to employer branding and professional development initiatives
  • Trusted partner for employees and managers with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; highly organized, structured, proactive and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple processes in parallel
  • Analytical, solution- and people-oriented mindset with a positive, hands-on, can-do attitude; committed to fostering a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace and handling confidential information with a high level of discretion and professionalism
  • Interest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve People Operations and employee experience; fluent in German and English (written and spoken), based in Germany with the ability to work on-site in Cologne and holding a valid work permit for Germany
